At Haulotte, safety is not just a priority—it is our core value. We believe that Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) are one of the safest ways to work at height, provided they are used properly and with the right safety measures in place. That’s why we are committed to continuously improving the safety of our machines, while also promoting safety training and awareness across the industry.

IPAF Global Safety Report
The IPAF Global Safety Report 2024 highlights the primary causes of major injuries and fatalities involving powered access equipment, including MEWPs, Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs), and Construction Hoists (CH). While powered access equipment is widely regarded as one of the safest methods for working at height, safety remains an ongoing challenge that requires constant attention. According to the report, the top causes of incidents are falls from platforms, overturns, electrocution, entrapment, and mechanical failure. With this knowledge, it becomes clear that safety is a shared responsibility, and effective management, supervision, and operator involvement are essential at every stage— from planning to operation.
The Importance of Training in Powered Access Equipment Safety
One of the biggest safety challenges in the powered access industry is ensuring that workers are properly trained and understand the risks associated with using MEWPs. With the recent updates to ANSI and CSA standards, it’s more important than ever for companies to understand their responsibilities regarding training. This knowledge should extend beyond the basic legal requirements to encompass a full understanding of safe practices and emergency response measures.
At Haulotte, we are committed to making safety training a core part of our offering. Through our comprehensive training programs, we ensure that all users of our equipment are well-equipped to work safely. Training is essential to preventing incidents and improving safety on the worksite. Haulotte’s training focuses on practical skills, hazard awareness, and the safe operation of our machines.
